Vue contact form
Verified against Vue 3.x · June 2026
Vue 3's `<script setup>` makes a contact form a few lines. Bind a `@submit.prevent` handler, serialize the form, and `fetch` FormLoom. No Pinia, no backend, no API route.
The code
Use `@submit.prevent` on the form and `new FormData(e.target)` to serialize. Track a `status` ref for the success/error UI.

</script>Gotchas
- `@submit.prevent` already calls `preventDefault()` for you.
- On Nuxt, prefer this client component over a server route unless you specifically need server-side processing.
- Use `Accept: application/json` to get a JSON response.

FAQ
Yes — the same `<script setup>` component works in Nuxt 3. Only use a server route if you need server-side logic.
