Transactional email

Glossary

An email triggered by a user action (form submit) rather than a campaign — high deliverability is critical.

Definition

Transactional email is one-to-one email triggered by a specific event — a form submission, a signup confirmation, or a password reset — as opposed to bulk marketing email. It requires high deliverability: the message must arrive, not land in spam. FormLoom uses Resend for transactional delivery, which handles SPF/DKIM signing, bounce handling, and deliverability optimization.

Why it matters for form backends

When someone submits your contact form, the notification email must arrive in your inbox, not your spam folder.

FAQ

Transactional email is triggered by user action and expected by the recipient — ISPs treat it favorably. Marketing email is batch and must follow opt-out rules.
